FIRLEJ ON TOUR: Petr Vrba & Ślina

Club "Firlej" from Wroclaw presents the concert of the Czech multi-instrumentalist Petr Vrba and the quartet from Wroclaw Ślina.
PETR VRBA [CZ]
Multi-instrumentalist well-known from the experiments with his free improvisations, during which he usually uses trumpet, clarinet, vibrating speakers and various other objects. He goes down as one of the most important figure in the experimental scene of Prague. He cooperated with lots of musicians including Xavier Charles, Axel Dörner, Isabelle Duthoit, Kai Fagaschinski, Franz Hautzinger, Chris Heenan, Matthew Goodheart, Christof Kurzmann, Seijiro Murayamą, Ivan Palacký, Miro Tóth, Michael Zerang. Together with American composer George Cremaschi he took part in Prague Improvised Orchestra and was invited to collaboration with Slovak band Möbius.
ŚLINA [PL]
Ślina is a quartet from Wroclaw playing improvisation music including ambient, drone, jazz and post-rock made by Matylda Gerber (baritone, tenor and alto saxophone), Filip Zakrzewski (guitar, electronica), Mikołaj Nowicki (string bass, electronica) and Stanisław Olka (drums). Musicians have been playing together since February 2018 and during that time they played concerts in: Wrocław, Poznań, Legnica, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Zielona Góra and twice as a matter of the Hultaj Festival in Palace in Gorzanów. By the end of 2018 musical group prepared a record which was released on September 2019 by Kilogram Records runs by Ola and Mikołaj Trzaska. On November 2019 band created another record which will be released in 2020.
The opportunity for the artists to meet can be found in Polish Jazz / Neighbors (Polish Jazz / Sąsiedzi). Project provided by the "Firlej" Cultural Center in Wrocław and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, which promotes Polish culture abroad.
