Jon Raskin Quartet + KARM
KARM
Michal Wróblewski - alto saxophone, clarinet
Torsten Papenheim - acoustic guitar, objects
Karm is composed of Michal Wróblewski (Prague), sax player, and Torsten Papenheim (Berlin), guitarist. In purely acoustic form, Karm creates sound spaces far beyond the usual sounds we associate with these instruments. Playing in their own strict idiom, the duo focuses on subtle developments and noisy - albeit quiet - structures. In Estonian, "karm" means harsh or strict, and both descriptors apply to the music of this Czech-German group.
