Lunchmeat x MeetFactory present Tim Hecker live, Dash, Freddie Hudson & Never Sol live
Morse code pulse programming flickers like distress signals ..-. .-.. .. -.-. -.- A gathering storm of strings, noise, and low-end looms in the distance ..-. .-.. .. -.-. -.- Lunchmeat and MeetFactory are reuniting after a decade to present No Highs, a new project of Tim Hecker who has been at the forefront of explorative electronic music over the past years, blurring the lines between gloomy ambient, raw noise, and sweeping electro-acoustic compositions. The latest by the Canadian composer and sound artist serves as a beacon of unease against the deluge of false positive corporate ambient ..-. .-.. .. -.-. -.- -.- -.-
With bespoke immersive set design responding to the themes of Hecker's new album, the collaborative minds of Lunchmeat Studio will transform the space of MeetFactory into a temporary murky haven. The night will start early, opening with Lunchmeat affiliate Freddie Hudson, who explores the emotional diversity and manifestations of ambient and parallel club music.
Following him on stage will be Never Sol (Sara Vondrášková) who creates melancholic compositions that are based on layered synth soundscapes, dark melodies shrouded in tons of reverb with thick yet delicate vocals. A strong connection to songwriting, intricate chord progressions, synths and voice are the cornerstones of her musical output. In the past year she started performing and improvising live with modular synthesizers which helps her disintegrate and refresh her classical songwriting approach.
After the experience of Hecker's No Highs full of austerity and ambiguity, Dash will take over to set a deep and hypnotic mood on the dancefloor. ..-. .-.. .. -.-. -.-
