Lunchmeat x Nová Spirála: Ryoji Ikeda presents ultratronics AV live
Japan’s leading electronic composer and visual artist ■ Ryoji Ikeda ■ focuses on the essential characteristics of sound itself and that of visuals as light by means of both mathematical precision and mathematical aesthetics. Ikeda has gained a reputation as one of the few international artists working convincingly across both visual and sonic media. He elaborately orchestrates sound, visuals, materials, physical phenomena and mathematical notions into immersive live performances and installations.
His acclaimed audiovisual performance ‘superposition’ premiered in 2012 and has been showcased in major venues worldwide. Ikeda has also collaborated on notable projects such as ‘100 Cymbals’ (2019) for the LA Philharmonic and ‘Centaur’ (2020) with Danish Dance Theatre.
Ikeda’s notable albums include ‘+/-’ (1996), ‘dataplex’ (2005), and ‘supercodex’ (2013). Latest album ■ ‘ultratronics’ ■ will be presented as live AV performance at the brand new venue Nová Spirála and with only three concerts scheduled in Europe before the end of 2024, this is a highly anticipated event.
