Sonic Liberations present: Parus + Mudaki
Sonic Liberations: Parus/Mudaki 10th August 2024
This iteration of the Sonic Liberations series will give focus to sound authenticity, ethnography, spatialisation, immersive processing and tradition with performances by two Belarusian projects:
PARUS
Parus is an expedition project using sounds and extracts from remote territories of Belarus by producer Anton Anishchanka in collaboration with folk singer and ethnographer Hanna Silivonchyk.
Exploring isolated villages, national parks and the authentic sonic landscape of the areas where these traditions were born and continue to exist to this day.
With the use of analogue reel-to-reel, recordings of traditional songs, instrumentation and village narratives, Parus produce an immersive multimedia performance adorned in ethnic traditions of Belarus.
