The eastern-African electronic scene is on the rise with artists from the flourishing underground scene making their way (not only) to western outlets and events. Slikback emerged from Nairobi, Kenya and his 2018 debut EP Lasakaneku launched the now-famous Nyege Nyege Tapes’ offshoot label Hakuna Kulala. Having played sets around Kampala and at Nyege Nyege Festival, he was more than ready for his European premiere at Poland’s Unsound. His 2019 calendar included gigs at the prestigious CTM, Sónar, and Dekmantel festivals, where he couldn’t resist bridging African genres such as gqom with contemporary hip-hop, dubstep or experimental electronics bringing the audience to ferocious states.

He also released two collaborative EPs with SVBKVLT artists HYPH11E and 33EMYBW and recently dropped a collaborative album including tracks with Tzusing, Brodinski or Ziúr or another hard-hitting EP Aratta yet again exploring his unique sonic palette. Slikback’s journey has only just begun and after sweating through his sets at Unsound and Le Guess Who? festivals, we are proud to host his first performance in Prague. Expect an electrifying live set where borders and boundaries mean nothing.

One of the most versatile Czech producers and DJs, founder of XYZ label, producer of several tracks for renowned prominent artists such as Katarzia or Black Tar Jesus – it is now hard to imagine the Czech scene without Oliver Torr. His recently released and instantly critically-acclaimed debut LP Fragility of Context marked the beginning of yet another era for this skilled producer and for Šelest he is prepared to deliver a tailored live set.

Martyyna is known as the founder of the renowned KSK parties as well as a member of the Blazing Bullets crew. Her DJ sets are appealingly unpredictable and chaotic in a similar way to her own production – just check her debut EP Awaken yourself. Ida Elastic is not afraid to dig deep as you can hear at her regular Tentacity shows on Radio Punctum. Eastern dancy vibes seamlessly melt with experimental electronics and surprise! you could even find Slikback tunes there. These two acclaimed personas of the Czech electronic scene join the first time ever for a back-2-back DJ set.
